Does the game have any vanilla content or is it just rape, corruption, prostitution, etc.?
Depends what is vanilla for you. For an example, you can avoid all rape content, keep her lust low and just have a little happy ecchi adventure and only be gropped by enemies a few times. Or you can make heroine more lewd and focus on consensual events while avoiding rapes.
But if "vanilla" for you is "healthy relationship with one partner" then no - there isn't any of that. MC is dedicated to her magical girl side-job and doesn't have any time for boyfriends.

I know this is probably a long shot, but does anyone know if there's a way to de-couple the 2nd/3rd defeat scenes/events from the character's Nasty level using the MTool? This is one of the best H games ever made in my opinion, but this is one pet peeve of mine from this circle. I can just max it out immediately but it's kind of annoying to go insta-slut that way.

I think you need to unlock all the memories (top middle) to access that door
Edit : Just remember something, forbidden library location is here

As the other have said, that's not the entrance to the forbidden library. That's the door to the end game memory. See that shelf on the right? You need to unlock all of those first, and proceed far enough along the storyline. Eventually you have will have to go through that door in order to fight the final boss.

Is it possible to mod a game like this? It'd be amazing to have a mod that increased the number of "special" equip slots so the MC could have more than 1 of the curses that gets equipped there

Kagura didn't translate everything. They missed at least 1 name that's still in Japanese - found out as when lost virgin status, it shows the name in Japanese and not English. Sloppy Kagura.

Anyways - I'm not terribly far in the game, but is it explained why normal monstrum/monsters can't impregnate humans? Cuz it's implied heavily from talking to Arcanum (name? sorry, can't remember off top of my head. the magic book) that they use high-mana girls as seedbeds... yet you apparently can't get pregnant from them. So what gives... on the one hand they say they can, on the other hand it's impossible?

AFIK, at least from reading this thread, it's only possible to get pregnant from humans and tentacles, but only in the late game, but nothing else. Or is that wrong?

Finished a virgin/low-lewd first run, the damage cap of 9999 per hit is so laughably/annoyingly low. (EDIT: Did a NG+ on Crisis and the cap got raised, I assume to make up for the tougher Crisis enemies.)

Default drop rates are pretty awful too. (while writing this I realised I forgot to use the drop rate cards in the nether ward)

Elemental attacks and RPS felt kinda pointless since the costs are too expensive to get everything, there are no respecs, and you want to get all 4 levels of an element for all the passives. In the end i just picked explosion magic

Shimobashira's work is erotic enough to warrant a second run, though (EDIT: Welp losing to get the loss scenes burned me out, I just grabbed the non-loss scenes then checked the rest with gallery unlock)

As for Kagura's translation, their story and event translators aren't too bad, but the people (or machine) translating system text seem to always mess up somewhere or other. Also inconsistencies between story and system text like Shame Resistance vs Embarassment Resistance. Usually stuff like this should be caught by editors or a project manager but clearly those people either were sleeping on the job or just don't exist

EDIT: One of the Nether Ward scenes was translated as Makai instead. A real class act.

I'm guessing they used DeepL since it can do an extremely passable job on translations, which is why you see the shame vs embarrassment screwup. Since it doesn't "understand" the contextual differences.

Oh, come on. Game is huge so there are bound to be some mistakes here and there. Also, Kagura is not a big publisher and afaik they are understaffed (they're always recruiting). I'm not not saying we should overlook fuckups but it would be nice if people would help instead complaining. They have Discord - why not make some screenshots of their mistakes and send it to them so they can fix it?

What's up with those baseless accusations that they are using MTL? Do you have any proof? Post some screens with weird dialogues and maybe some comparisons with KG's version vs DeepL translation of japanese version or just don't post this crap at all. Because we know that somebody will read this, repeat it and spread it. Before you know it somebody will complain about it in steam review because "he read it somewhere".
Human error is the simplest answer and simple answers are correct most of the time. Dude translated it as "shame resistance" when he was translating system text and month later when he was doing event text he translated it as "embarrassment resistance". Or there are translator switch, or multiple translators. But no - they made a mistake so they must be using MTL!

Honestly, this shit gets me mad. KG is doing a decent job - it's not perfect and it will never be but nobody else is publishing uncensored hentai rpgs in the west. I wish people were more supportive instead constantly shitting on KG because if they will be gone, we are back to MTL and mosaics.

A guy over on F95 DID compare a number of files with the original JP version and found that a number of bugs, including some pretty big ones about dialog triggers along with inconsistent variable usage were there from the original JP version, taken from the latest version. Of course, they were the kind of bugs that you couldn't really notice with MTL... though I am surprised more people on the JP side didn't complain about them to get them fixed.

One should keep in mind that enough of this game's development happened during the big COVID mess that there's bound to be more issues with it than normal. Not to mention that this game has huge amounts of text. There's no way that a single translator worked on this alone. Not with this release timing. They'd have needed another year if a single person was working on this, and that's not counting whatever time was needed to do the whole Under 18 version work for Steam.

All that said, from what I've played in this game so far, I've found little to do with Kagura's main responsibility. That is to say, the translations. Is it perfect? No, but nothing ever is. Is it much better than tons of other options? Yes, yes it bloody well is.

In Ars Memoria buy (and equip) Exploration skills (up to lvl 2). Second lvl gives you an ability to 'see the unseen'. You also can equip item you crafted in train molester quest. After you equip either of this, run through EVERY dungeon location in the game from the beginning till the end and you will find some interesting places.

And if you have no courage to explore game, here're spoiler about where that magic guide book located:

Also there're other unique items located in secret rooms on other locations so good luck checking them too. You might find something very interesting (or not, i don't remember since idr anything from last time I played jp version and rn I still haven't finished this game on crisis difficulty...)

Feels like the understaffing is a self-inflicted problem from constantly grabbing so many licenses. Like, they have which they're even accepting money for.

I didn't check if their Discord had a place to accept error reports and don't know if they act on the reports but if they do then fair enough. I'll consider it when I play another of their releases.

And I will say that a game being picked up by Kagura is miles better than jokers like Wasabi Entertainment or Otaku Plan. Maybe I've just had my expectations too high after seeing well translated works in other mediums and applied those expectations to the H-game scene.
